Accidental Autograph
My latest Currently Reading came with a nice surprise.
It's a great feeling when you buy a used book for super cheap, then open it to the title page and find out it's signed.
That's right. My bookish spidey senses somehow sniffed out a signed book. Now that's what I call instinct.
When I picked up State of Wonder by Ann Patchett, I had no idea it was signed. Obviously, 2nd & Charles didn't either because I'm sure they would've charged me more than $5 for it. I think they looked it over since most signed books of value tend to be hardbacks, but I'm not particular.
There you have it. Ann Patchett's John Hancock right there on the title page. I practically did a double take! It's just not something I typically find in really cheap used books.
This is actually the first book I've ever read by Ann Patchett, but even though I'm only 25 pages in, I can tell it's prolific.
