How to Write Book Spine Poetry
Sometimes you have moments where the perfect thing just hits you.
I was talking to my boyfriend about the book mail that came in this week: All the Light We Cannot See and How to Tell Toledo From the Night Sky. True to his fashion, he had to make a joke. "But what about all the light we can see? Is all the light we cannot see how we tell Toledo from the night sky?"
Amidst our laughter, I realized we'd just happened upon book spine poetry! We didn't invent book spine poetry, but we enjoyed spending time writing poetry based on titles on my bookshelf. Here's what we came up with...
If I die in a combat zone, whistling past the graveyard,
come in and cover me.
