Thursday Word Day: Legerdemain

It's #ThursdayWordDay!

It's not uncommon for me to find a word or two I don't know in any given book. But recently I read Fun Home by Alison Bechdel, and learned, like, twenty new words. I'm not even kidding. Whoever said graphic novels/memoirs aren't literary just haven't read it yet. Fun Home is as "literary" as anything I've ever read.

So in honor of all the awesome words I learned, the next couple of weeks of Thursday Word Day are going to be Fun Home throwback.

Starting with... "legerdemain: noun. skill in using your hands to perform magic tricks."

Really, legerdemain can be used for any type of trickery or sneakiness done with the hands, not just formal magic tricks.

Got a fun vocab word to share? Post it in the comments along with a link to your blog and I'll give you a shoutout on a future #ThursdayWordDay.
