Hot Off the Shelf: The Vine That Ate the South by JD Wilkes

I've been telling everyone who will listen about this book for months and it's finally out! The Vine That Ate the South was one of the best things I read last year (it made my best of 2016 list because I got the advanced reader copy back in October) and it's officially one of my favorite works of Southern lit. EVER.

I loved this book so much I actually wrote two reviews of it, focusing on different aspects of the novel, for two different magazines. The first of my two reviews has been published by Deep South Magazine. The review includes an interview with the author, who's every bit as fascinating as the book itself. I think you'll quickly be able to tell just how much I enjoyed this book by reading my review/interview.

I'll share the second review/interview once it's published. In the meantime, I'd greatly appreciate you supporting me and my work by giving this review/interview a read, commenting, and sharing it on social media.

That lets Deep South Magazine know you enjoy my work and increases my chances of being published again in the future.

And if you get yourself a copy of The Vine That Ate the South (and I hope you do!) you'll have to let me know what you think of it.
