Hot Off the Shelf: Unravelings by Sarah Cheshire

Trigger warning: sexual assault, rape, sexual trauma

If one of your reading resolutions for 2018 is to read more indie press books and/ or to support talented up-and-coming authors, then you definitely want to check out the best chapbook I've ever read: Unravelings by Sarah Cheshire.

Through poetic prose, you feel the slow build of intimacy, gaslighting, manipulation, and destruction that any woman who has fallen for a questionable guy will find all too familiar. When anonymous student Jane Doe falls for anonymous creative writing instructor Professor X, a Title IX investigation and a whirlwind of emotion ensue. It's haunting and the story will follow you long after you've finished the book.

I loved the book so much that I wrote a review for PANK Magazine and interviewed Sarah about Title IX and her writing process. I'd love for you to check it out and share it with any friends you think would be interested.
