Fresh essay out! Read "Ink Love"
[image description: A man holding a black pen and drawing a mountain scene in a sketchbook. The pen he’s holding is similar to the one I have tattooed on my arm!]
Whenever I see the pen tattoo inked on my arm, I can hardly believe it’s only been a year and a half ago since I got it. The pen feels like such a part of me that it’s hard to imagine my arm without it. The pen was the perfect addition to my body to make this vessel I was born into by default truly feel like it’s mine.
There’s also the fact that my tattoo has made me a better writer.
No, seriously.
This tattoo is the closest thing to magic I’ve seen in my writing life. I even wrote an essay about it for Talking Writing magazine.
Please give it a read. It means a lot to me when you support my work AND it’s sure to leave you feeling inspired to head into 2020 going for your dreams full speed ahead.
It’s also serendipitous that this essay was published this month because I made an appointment for my second tattoo a couple of days ago. Actually, as you’re reading this, I’m probably in the middle of getting inked. This second tattoo will be a stack of books and I can’t wait to share it with you!
