That's why I started the Off the Beaten Shelf Book Nerds group on Facebook. It's a community of book lovers sharing and discussing book news from all over the bookternet.
Interested? We'd love to have you! Request to join the group and I'll approve your request shortly.
For more info on what to expect, check out this brief description:
There are so many marvelous pieces of book news being published on the interwebs every day and I thought it would be fun to have a place to share them and have awesome conversations with fellow book nerds. It's an open community, so feel free to invite anyone you like. I have it set to "closed" to keep out spammers, but anyone is welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing all the stuff we share!
We're pretty chill here, but I've got a handful of community house rules:
1) No negative book reviews. It's totally cool if you hate a book, but other people might like it and I don't want to discourage anyone from reading something that they might like. Feel free to share opinions openly, even negative ones, but please don't post links to negative book reviews.
2) If you have a book blog, you're welcome to post links to your blog here. However, please don't turn this into a self-promotion free for all. If you post links to your blog, be sure to also post links to other book-related stuff. If I see too many posts from one person's blog, I'll start deleting them to keep the conversation diversified. I have a book blog and will be following this rule myself.
3) Be nice. We all have different tastes, but I feel that as book nerds, we should just be happy other people are reading and not judge anyone for what they read. All tastes and genres are welcome here. Judgy McJudgerpants folks will be banned. Everything is welcome here--fiction, nonfiction, YA, kid lit, self help, erotica, romance, self-published, comics, graphic novels, LGBT, EVERYTHING.
4) Since this is a book group intended to share book news, please keep the posts focused on book news. You're welcome to post whatever you like, as often as you like, as long as it's related to books. Any posts not related to books, libraries, publishing, and the like will be deleted.
Like what you see? Join us! We can't wait to meet you.
