I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Atheist Awareness Day, or whatever it is you and yours celebrate. I know I did, especially since I have book goodies to show for it! Here's my Happy HAULidays haul.
Meow that's what I'm talking about!
Although I myself have not yet had the fortune of visiting the famous Strand Books in New York City, which is home to 18 miles of books, my best friend Ethan who moved to NYC two years ago has. Thanks to him, I'm the proud owner of this adorable mug.
#LibrarianSwag
You should've seen the look on my face when I opened this! I remember the days before libraries had barcodes on all the books... *cue hipster reminiscing glazed-over stare* Ah, well. I'm still proud to be a future librarian and I especially can't wait to carry this tote in on my first day of librarian work.
A, B, C. Easy as 1, 2, 3.
You know, I can't say I'm too sentimental about Reader's Digest since I've never read one. But they sure are cute, so I don't mind them being cut up to make these super awesome letter cutouts! My bookshelf is now graced with a cutout M and I just think it's the coolest.
A book purse? Now that's novel!
Another crafty use for those Readers Digest condensed books is making a book purse! There are lots of book purses on the interwebs, but mine is different. Rather than being made about of one book and turned into a glorified clutch, mine is made out of two books, which allows it to have a triangle shape. That means more real estate for me to stuff all my purse junk inside.
I couldn't find any as nifty as mine on the internet, but if you're looking for Readers Digest book purses in general, Etsy has the hook up.
When I was hand sold the first volume of Saga, I knew I would become a fan in the utmost sense. It's quite literally one of the best things I've ever read--not just one of the best comics I've ever read, or one of the best books, but one of the best pieces of reading material I've ever read period. Period.
Luckily for me, at the time I became a fan volumes 1, 2, and 3 were already out. Even luckier for me, the fourth volume just came out a few days ago; just in time for my fabulous boyfriend to pre-order it for me in time for Christmas. Oh, yeah. I've already read it. Seriously, just go buy all four volumes. You'll thank me later.
