Birmingham book nerds have a reason to be excited. There's a new bookstore in town!
Lake Cottage Books recently opened in Birmingham's East Lake neighborhood. And if you haven't gotten a chance to check it out, this Saturday is the perfect chance!
Round up your friends and come to the bookstore for Games, Gab, and Grub. You and your friends can play classic games like Scrabble, Pictionary, Taboo, and more, all while eating some tasty snacks. There'll be heavy hors d'oeuvres of Floribbean lime wings, homemade Rotel, hot dogs, and s'mores.
I should mention here that I'm friends with the owner of Lake Cottage Books and she used to do catering, so she knows about good food.
The fun starts at 6pm this Saturday, September 12th and all ages are welcome. Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door, and the proceeds go to provide books for children and seniors in the East Lake community.
So you get friends, games, and food, AND you get to check out Birmingham's newest bookstore. If you haven't cancelled your Saturday night plans yet, I'm taking you to the doctor.
