Hot Off the Shelf: Against Memoir by Michelle Tea
Over the past couple of years, the number of essay collections and the number of feminist books I've read keeps going up. So when Against Memoir by Michelle Tea––a mix of both of these things––showed up on my doorstep, I was thrilled!
While I don't personally think "feminism" is just another buzzword, I get the sense that there are people out there who do, which is why I was so glad to see that Against Memoir is one of the most nuanced feminist essay collections I've come across. Nothing is simple, nothing is cut and dry, and if you think you know what intersectional feminism is, Michelle Tea just might shake you up completely––in the best way.
My review of Against Memoir was published by PANK Magazine and I'd love for you to check it out.
It means the world to me when you read and support my work. And it really does help because it lets the magazine know you like what I do, so they're more likely to want to publish things I submit in the future.
And if you end up reading Against Memoir (and I hope you will!) let me know so we can talk about it. :)
