Thursday Word Day: Tsundoku

Happy #ThursdayWordDay, word nerds!

English has adopted tons of foreign words into its everyday usage and today's word is one that I really want to become commonplace.

"tsundoku: (Japanese) noun. 1. buying books and not reading them; 2. letting books pile up unread on shelves or floors or nightstands."

I should start a Tsundokus Anonymous or something!

That's definitely my problem. I'd gotten into a habit of buying books on sale (which means buying a LOT of books), then picking up books from the library, which left the ones I bought unread on the shelf. I'm working to fix that with my 2016 Reading Resolution.

Got a favorite funky vocab word? Share it in the comments with a link to your blog and I'll give you a shout for a future #ThursdayWordDay!
