The Letter I Never Sent Harper Lee
This week's post is a little different.
I announced a little while ago that I would be blogging once a week instead of twice a week because I've been doing more creative writing, like creative nonfiction essays and working on my novel. I promised I'd share my progress.
So I'm thrilled to share my first ever publication in a literary magazine! International lit mag, The Missing Slate published my essay "The Letter I Never Sent Harper Lee."
Out of everything I've written to date, this is by far my favorite piece. I'm getting a lot of great feedback on it and I think you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Now, here's where I need your help. Getting published in a magazine is a lot like being invited to dinner at someone's house---you want to make sure you get invited back.
So I'm asking you to share my essay on social media (Facebook and Twitter, especially) and with anyone you think would like to read it. That lets The Missing Slate know that you like essays like this, which increases my chance of having my work published there again in the future. Show them some love and they'll show me some love.
And if you'd like to send me a note about the piece, feel free to do so in the comments on this post since The Missing Slate doesn't have comments enabled.
Thank you for supporting my work on and off this blog. I'm grateful for you. <3
