Thursday Word Day: Schadenfreude

Happy #ThursdayWordDay, word nerds!

Today's word is one I'd never read nor heard until the awesome Heather Leonard mentioned that it's her favorite vocab word. Despite the word's meaning, she's a really nice person, I assure you. And she's an urban fantasy writer, so you should go check out her stuff.

Dictionary.com says, "schadenfreude: noun. 1) satisfaction or pleasure felt at someone else's misfortune."

So next time, instead of chalking it up to karma, just admit you're feeling schadenfreude. I mean, who isn't happy to see that guy on the interstate who thinks it's the Indy 500 get a speeding ticket or seeing your jerk ex miserable and alone? Schadenfreude, man.

Have you got a favorite word? If so, tell me in the comments below and I just might feature it for a future Thursday Word Day!
